I am no longer proud to be canadian.
In fact, I'm horribly ashamed that I live in this country.

Yes, I hope so. Unfortunately this guy just got (re)elected, so he's going to be around for another 4 or so years, because he got a majority. DX

That is so unfair!!!! I can't believe he would do something like that... It's beyond stupid and embarrassing. He should be very ashamed of himself. I seriously don't care for all this stuff. Let people be people. If they want to have a same-sex relationship, why not? It shouldn't be a federal offense. Stupid leaders... XP

Oh, I know right >.>
Oh, well apparently, he has realized his error, and the reason the marriages were being considered null was because of a loophole that stated that spouses had to be married and living in the country for one year. But that was in the original bill--the one the liberals passed. Ottawa, in a statement made today, is currently working on fixing the loophole so that these marriages will be once again recognized under Canadian law.

So they are now fixing it.
Boo yah.

Unfortunately, I'm still ashamed that there was all the kaffuffle >.>

But good to know Canada is still maintaining it's rights. Even if it took some incensed people to change it.

Well its good that they're fixing it. That would have been a terrible law.
